The Magic is outside your comfort zone

Imagine a happy little goldfish, he swims around and around within the confines of his bowl, he eats, sleeps, poops, and life is fine (or so he thinks).

The purpose being to take space to respond with thoughtfulness and balanced emotions.

According to dear old Wikipedia, “A comfort zone is a psychological state in which things feel familiar to a person and they are at ease and in control of their environment, experiencing low levels of anxiety and stress.”

You see, what dictates the size of a goldfish, is its environment, the size of his bowl and what is in the space. And while the goldfish lives in his very safe environment, it’s also very limiting in almost every way. When placed in a more robust environment, say a small pond there is potential for growth. Perhaps potentially a little unsafe and this is when we must start to trust out instinctual messages from the amygdala, the fight or flight message, but only to be trusted when both emotional and logical aspects of our mind are balanced.

Many times, clients will come to me with disillusionment, low energy, mind fog, poor sleep and nutrition and quite often, dreadful levels of anxiety and/or depression. Once we are able to access the solutions by being in communication with the unconscious mind, healing the past traumas and emotional blockages, they then are able to aspire to living the most fulfilling life.

Author Neale Donald Walsch of the acclaimed spiritual book series, Conversations With God reminds us:

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

Now, a word of warning…

Only in a state of discomfort can you continue to grow. So be prepared to live outside your comfort zone a lot. Because guess what? As you continue to step out of your comfort zone, as you become more comfortable with this, your comfort zone gets bigger and so you can continuously be challenged to step out further, and further.

The beauty and joy of this, is that you will be living your life of passion, joy and fulfillment, the life you truly deserve.

Many times, big changes can happen, like change of career, lifestyle, partner, achieve some great goals, win a title even, or simply peace and happiness is gained with clear direction and purpose. This is possible when we clear the obstacles and gain connection with self to access the true inner wisdom and resources that enable us to live our life as we deserve – happy, healthy and fulfilled.

"Great things don't come to those who stay within comfort zones!!
